Hello there,
The Evangelism and Membership committee would like to try something different with this edition of my Weekly Contact email. We have many talented and committed people in our congregation including you. But often needs go unmet, simply because people are unaware of what is going on. We are asking you to click here and fill out this online survey so we can do our best to bridge that gap. A paper version of this survey will be in the bulletin on Sunday.
We will be back to two services on Sunday. Our traditional service will be at 9:00 and we are delighted to have the Chancel Choir back again under the direction of Paul Holstein. The Synergy praise service will be at 11:00 with our praise team under the direction of Sam Raiche. Pastor Nancy will be preaching at both services. Her text is Colossians 1:15-28 and her sermon title is “The Colossian Controversy.”
In between services Marta Pumroy will be sharing her experiences as a delegate from our Presbytery to the General Assembly.
Going back to two services means we are back into the fall schedule and so LOGOS will begin next Wednesday. We are still looking for some help with Bible study and in the kitchen. Either click and fill out the electronic survey or contact Pastor Beth if you are at all interested.
Finally, starting this Sunday, for three weeks on Sunday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:00, Roger Dana will be giving a series of lectures he is calling, “My Journey from Physics to Christ,” where he will be explaining some of the connections between his background as a theoretical physicists and he personal faith. It should be a fascinating discussion and Roger promises to keep the mathematical formulas to a minimum and there will be no homework.
Stay in One Peace,
Howard
