Come to church hungry on Sunday morning!! Our Celebration Sunday kicks off with breakfast being served by our youth in the Social Room. Pancakes with all the fixings, sausage, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, milk, juice, and coffee are all on the menu. It all starts at 8:30, so skip the soggy cornflakes and come early. While you are enjoying your breakfast, check out the displays from various committees and ministries.
Worship will begin at 9:30! That is later than normal, but we don’t want to rush you. Judy Chapman and Sharon Colton will start us out with a rousing organ and piano duet. Our text is Romans 13:8-14 that begins, “Owe no one anything, except to love one another…” During worship there will be brief presentations from various ministries showing just how we are fulfilling our mission of “Internally nurturing; Externally serving.” It will all be very exciting, so come and celebrate the wonderful things God is doing at FPC.
This will be our first Sunday for our new seminary intern, Sean Walker. Sean is in his second year at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. He grew up in Delevan, WI., and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Dubuque, majoring in religion. He and his wife, Colleen, have three children; Elena 3, Benjamin 2, and Seth, who was born on August 3rd. Sean will be with us all year. He is scheduled to preach his first sermon on September 28th. When you see Sean, introduce yourself and make him feel at home.
Stay in One Peace,
