Where has the summer gone? It is hard to believe but September is here and Labor Day is upon us. This month’s First Press is out. You can download it by clicking here. Paper copies will be available around the church building.
Activities are starting to gear up for a new year. The Chancel choir has begun practicing and our Christian Ed committees are lining things up for Sunday School and LOGOS. We do need some help, especially for the Wednesday night LOGOS program. There will be a sign up downstairs in the social room with the gaps that need to be filled.
One big gap that we need some help with is in finding someone to direct our Cherub Choir. Donna Bean has been doing it for almost 20 years and feels it is time to step down. We are so grateful to Donna’s faithful service and will miss her joy and enthusiasm with the little children. So now it is time to find a replacement and that is a challenge. This could be a paid position. If you or someone you know might be interested, please contact Pastor Beth.
This Sunday will be the last on the summer schedule of one service at 9:00. We will go to two services, at 9:00 and then our Synergy praise service at 11:00, next Sunday on September 11. But this Sunday will be a good time of worship. We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper, which is always important and meaningful. Judy Chapman and Sharon Colton have some wonderful piano/organ/keyboard duets planned for us. The Rainbow Bells will play, and Pastor Beth will be preaching on the entire book of Philemon.
Finally, this will be your last Sunday to vote on your favorite Old Testament Bible story that you would like Pastor Beth and I to preach on this fall. Fill out your ballot and put it in the box in the back of the sanctuary.
Stay in One Peace,
