There is a lot going on at church. We have a good Sunday coming up. The Cherub Choir and Rainbow Bells will be a part of the first worship service. I will be preaching on Mark 12:38-44 and my sermon title is “All in for God.” Between services the youth will be putting on one of their wonderful pancake breakfasts. Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit next summer’s mission trip to Dallas, TX.
Jim Langley will be continuing his adult Sunday School class on The Prodigal God.
If you are a veteran you are invited to join our children and youth for supper at LOGOS on Wednesday evening, November 11, at 6:00 as we celebrate Veterans’ Day.
We will be having a fall clean-up day for the church grounds on Saturday, November 14th, starting at 9:00 a.m. Bring leaf rakes and blowers as we tidy things up before winter. A rain date will be the following Saturday, the 21st.
The Cedar Lake 7 will be with us in concert, November 14th at 7:00 p.m. They are a men’s gospel choir from Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. One of their members is Chaz Nove, who grew up in our church and whose mother and sister are still members. There is no charge for this concert, but a free will offering will be collected to benefit Marion Cares. The Cedar Lake 7 will also be with us in worship on November 15th.
Finally, we are looking for deacons. The nominating committee is looking for people who are compassionate and wanting to serve God by serving others. Those are the main qualifications to be a deacon. If you, or someone you know, fit that description, contact the pastors or someone on the nominating committee.
Stay in One Peace,
