Hello there,
First off, you have all been so good I think you should sleep in an extra hour on Sunday. That is, of course, if you remember to turn your clock back on hour.
We had a great Celtic Sunday and Harvest Dinner last week, and we are grateful to all who worked together to make it all happen. But there are some other events coming up that we do not want you to forget.
Next Wednesday all the Vets with their spouses are invited to our Wednesday night LOGOS supper to celebrate Veterans’ Day and to thank them for their service to our country.
A week from Saturday, the 12th we are having work day on the church grounds to clean things up before winter. Bring rakes, shovels, blowers, anything that might be needed to spruce up the place. We will start at 8:00 and our rain date is the following Saturday, the 19th.
Sunday, the 13th, is Consecration Sunday when we are asking for everyone to bring their pledge cards for 2017. We need you to raise your financial commitment so that we can continue with the mission and ministry of our church. If you have not picked up the booklet “Our Story-Your Story” that outlines what is done with our finances, they are available around the church building. If you would like one sent to you, let the church office know.
This Sunday we are continuing our sermon series on the favorite stories of the Old Testament. This week the text is Daniel 3:1-26, the story of the fiery furnace. The 4th and 5th graders have a dramatic telling of the story in the first service. My sermon title is “But if Not…” We will be celebrating communion and the Chancel Choir will be singing.
Stay in One Peace,
Howard
