It is hard to believe but a week from today is Thanksgiving. The holidays are upon us and I don’t know about you but I am not quite ready. The church is not quite ready either, so we need your help.
First off, we need help packing the boxes for Operation Christmas Child. We will be putting things together at 1:00 on Saturday afternoon. We have a slight change in plans in that we will be doing this all in the basement of the Methodist Church across the street. All ages are welcome, and this is great fun and really gets you into the holiday spirit.
Then we will be decorating the sanctuary for Advent and Christmas after worship on Sunday. We will get to work right after the second service at around noon. So, please lend a hand hanging the greens and decorating the Christmas tree.
Sunday morning will be great. Chancel Choir is singing in the first service, and the youth are putting on another of their delicious pancake brunches between services. So come hungry and give generously to support the summer mission trip. We will be ending our fall sermon series on the favorite stories of the Old Testament. This week it will be the beautiful story of Esther. My text will be Esther 4:9-17, and my sermon title will be “Such a Time as This.”
I will not be sending out a Weekly Contact message next Thursday due to the holiday. So may you and yours have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Stay in One Peace,
