Hello there,
A big weekend coming up. First off, we can use your help on Saturday morning. We are having a work day to clean up the church grounds before the winter, starting at 9:00. Bring leaf rakes and blowers. If enough of us show up we should have it all done in no time. The weather is supposed to be good, so please lend a hand.
Then Saturday evening at 7:00 come to the church for a concert by the Cedar Lake Seven. They are a men’s gospel choir from Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. They have a wide repertoire from traditional hymns to gospel to rock and roll and country. One of the leaders is Chaz Nove who grew up in our church. There is no charge, but a free will offering will be collected to benefit Marion Cares.
The Cedar Lake Seven will be with us in worship on Sunday morning at both services, as well as our Chancel Bell choir playing at the early service. We will also be wrapping up our “Imagine! It’s Worth It!” campaign by turning in and dedicating our financial commitments for 2016. Please consider raising your pledge for next year and bring your pledge card to worship on Sunday. It is indeed worth it. I will be preaching on 1st Samuel 1:4-20, the story of Hannah, a woman of great faith.
Stay in One Peace,
Howard
