Weekly Contact– November 10, 2016

Hello there,

Happy Veterans’ Day, tomorrow, to all who served! We are grateful for all you have done for our nation.  Thank you!

I have two reminders for everyone:

REMINDER #1: SATURDAY WORKDAY TO CLEAN UP THE CHURCH GROUNDS. So far the weather has been great, but winter is just around the corner.  We need to get things tidied up around the church grounds, so we can really use your help.  Bring rakes, blowers, and anything you think of might be useful as we pick up leaves, trash and other debris around the building and parking lot.  We start bright and early at 8:00.  The weather is supposed to cooperate.  Coffee and donuts will be provided.  Many hands make light work.  Please give us a little of your time as we spruce things up before winter

REMINDER #2: BRING YOUR PLEDGE CARD TO CHURCH THIS SUNDAY. Once again it is stewardship time and your pledge makes a huge difference.  So please give prayerful consideration to raising your pledge for 2017 and bring your card with you to worship on Sunday.  You will turn it in during the service and we will dedicate our efforts to God.

We are excited to have a brass quintet under the direction of Bob Roussell for special music in the first service on Sunday. You won’t want to miss that.  We will be continuing our sermon series on our favorite stories from the Old Testament.  This week the story is Daniel in the Lions’ Den found in Daniel 6:1-23.  My sermon title is “Keep Calm and Carry On.”

Finally, it may be a bit hard to believe with the sunshine and warm weather, but the holidays and Advent are upon us. We will be decorating the sanctuary, hanging the greens, putting up the Christmas tree, etc. around noon on Sunday, November 12th, right after the second service.  Please mark your calendar and plan on helping us get ready for the season.

Stay in One Peace,

Howard
