Weekly Contact- May 31, 2018

Hello there,

School is out and we are shifting into summer mode.  So there will only be one service this coming Sunday at 9:00.  Our praise team under the direction of Sam Raiche will be providing the music, so it will be a lively time.  We will be celebrating the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.  I will be preaching on Mark 2:23-3:6.  My sermon title is “Everyone Gets a Pajama Day.”

Be sure to come back Sunday afternoon at 2:30 for a wonderful concert featuring Young at Harp and The RidgerunnersYoung at Harp is a Celtic harp ensemble and have a lovely sound for sacred and folk music.  Our Nancy Jennings and Judy Rousell are members.  The Ridgerunners are a bluegrass/gospel/folk group and our Karen Peirce is a member.  So come and enjoy some great music.  A freewill offering will be collected to benefit the FLY (Feeding Lunch to Youth) ministry.

Vacation Bible School begins next Monday afternoon, starting at 5:30.  We are pretty well staffed, but we won’t turn away any volunteers to help.  Any child who has completed kindergarten through fifth grade is more than welcome to join us as we explore Hero Central: The Great Heroes of the Bible.

We will begin serving FLY lunches next week on Wednesday.  We are still looking for a few people to make deliveries.  If you can help, let Pastor Beth know.

Finally, the June First Press is available.  If you would like to download a copy, click here.

Stay in One Peace,

Howard
