First off, we are shifting to one service at 9:00 this Sunday through Labor Day. So if you usually attend the 11:00 service, you need to set your alarm for a bit earlier.
We have a great Sunday coming up. As is our custom on the first Sunday we shift to one service for the summer we will be honoring our long time members. The three longest memberships are Mary Mann who has been a member for 74 years, her sister, Katie Bock, who has been a member for 72 years, and Don Stamy, who has been a member for 70 years. We will also be receiving four new members which is always exciting. We will have a solo sung by the Rev. Connie Peake. I will be preaching on 1st Peter 5:6-11 and my sermon title is “Four Wheel Drive.” There will be a reception in the social hall following the service.
Memorial Day means summer is upon us and we are looking for a few more volunteers to deliver lunches for the FLY program. If you can help sign up in the social hall or contact Pastor Beth. We are continuing our drive to collect 175 juice box packs for FLY.
Vacation Bible School will be the week of June 12th through the 16th. Once again we will be teaming up with the Camp Wyoming staff and Echo Hill Presbyterian Church. There is still time to register children. We are also looking for people willing to provide about five lunches each day for the Camp Wyoming VBS counselors. If you would be willing to do this, again, contact Pastor Beth.
With the warm weather, gardens are starting to bloom. If you have flowers in your garden that you would be willing to donate for the sanctuary on Sunday morning, contact the church office or Karen Trimble.
Finally, a week from Sunday, June 4th is Pentecost Sunday. Remember to wear something red.
Stay in One Peace,
