This will be our last Sunday with two services for a while. On May 26th, (Memorial Day Weekend) we begin our summer schedule with one service at 10:00. The reason we are shifting to 10:00 is that it is unlikely you will have an interim pastor in place on August 1st, when I retire. So, for hopefully a short time you will have pulpit supply preachers leading in worship. They may have to travel some distance to be with us, so Session decided an extra hour in the morning would be helpful. Until an interim pastor arrives we will only have one worship service on Sunday mornings.
We do have a team working on long range worship plans. If you would like to be a part of this process as FPC Marion works through this time of transition, their next meeting is next Wednesday, May 22 at 6:00 in the chapel.
Since we are shifting to our summer schedule this will be the last Sunday for the Chancel Choir and the Chancel Bells. Both groups will be enriching the first service with their music. We are very grateful for all their efforts over this last year. This will also be the last Sunday of the school year for children and youth Sunday School.
I will be preaching on Acts 11:1-18 and my sermon title is “Off the Map.”
We do continue to need help mowing the grass around the church grounds. There is a sign-up sheet in the social room.
Stay in One Peace,
