First off, our Family Promise guests arrive on Sunday. We have been scrambling a bit for volunteers and a number of you have stepped up. We thank you. We can always use more help, especially setting up on Sunday morning after the first service. We need to set up the basement of the Mission House into a living space. If you can help then or in some other way, contact Sheila Myers at email@example.com.
Sunday will be our last with two services until September, so if you usually come to the second service it will be your last Sunday to sleep in. We will be thanking volunteers who have helped with Sunday School, LOGOS and other programs. This will be your last Sunday to hear the Chancel Choir until the fall. The text for my sermon is Psalm 1. Its title is “Wise Ways.”
We also will have a special guest for an adult forum between the services. Silentor Esthill-Henderson will present a program about Mission Starfish in Haiti. Silentor was born in Haiti, but grew up here in Iowa. He now runs a mission that helps educate some of the poorest children of Haiti. Come and hear about the good things God is doing and how we can be a part of it all.
A week from today is our first Pizza and Painting with the Pastor that I mentioned last week.
Finally, a week from Sunday is Pentecost. Mark it on your calendar to wear red. If you don’t own anything red, maybe this is the excuse you need to go shopping.
Stay in One Peace,
