On Sunday daylight savings time begins when we set our clocks forward an hour. This usually means losing an hour’s sleep if you go to church. So this year we are trying to help everyone out. Instead of two services at 9:00 and 11:00, THIS WEEK WE WILL HAVE ONE SERVICE AT 10:00. So if you forget to reset your clock you will be on time, or if you do remember you won’t lose that hour of sleep. The service will be followed by a Baked Potato Bar lunch, so you can even get something delicious to eat. You can’t beat that, now can you?
At this one service, the Chancel Choir will be singing. I will be preaching, and my sermon text will be selected verses from the 3rd and 4th chapters of the Gospel of John. If you want to take a few minutes and read those chapters before Sunday morning, you will have some idea of what I will be talking about. My sermon title is “The Big Picture.”
On Tuesday, March 20th, a little more than a week away, our church will be hosting a meeting of the Presbytery of East Iowa. This will run from 1:00 to 5:00 and we need some help. We need people out in the parking lot, helping the commissioners find a place to park. We need greeters to be by the doors showing people where to go. We need some folks to sit at a table and get everyone registered. And we need some ushers during the worship service. We will have a sign up sheet at the back of the sanctuary this Sunday and next. Or you can contact the office if you are willing to help. We appreciate anything you might be able to do.
Stay in One Peace,
