Hello there,
First off, everyone sing the following hymn to the tune of “God of Grace and God of Glory.”
God of sleep, and God of slumber, help us not be late, we ask:
Changing clocks one forward number, may we not forget this task
Choir directors, preachers, teachers, all will bless your holy name,
If to Sunday, church on time we came.
Yes, that’s right; we turn our clocks forward one hour this weekend for daylight savings time. And, no, I did not make up those words. If you are on FaceBook, you probably have seen them already.
So, even though you lose an hour’s sleep it will be worth it to make it to church on Sunday. The Chancel Choir is singing at the first service, and I am preaching on two texts, Deuteronomy 26:1-11 and Luke 4:1-11. My sermon title is “I Love to Tell the Story.” Care to take a guess on what hymn we will be singing?
Finally, if you receive an email that appears to be from me with the email address [email protected], do not open it and delete it at once. Someone has gone to the church’s website, copied my picture and created a fake gmail account, pretending to be me. If you respond you will get a request for buying a gift card, supposedly so I can help someone from our congregation. It is all a scam. Unfortunately, since I am not directly losing money or being damaged in some way, other than my reputation, there is little I can do about it, other than warn people.
Even so, I am staying in One Peace,
Howard
