Holy Week is upon us and I invite you to be a part of what is going on at church so that this might be for you a meaningful spiritual transition from death into life. Tonight (Thursday) we will be having a Service of Darkness as we commemorate the Last Supper with song, prayer, communion, readings and a Tenebrae service. It all begins at 6:30 in the sanctuary
Tomorrow we will have a brief Good Friday communion service at 1:00, downstairs in the chapel as we remember God’s great love that sent our Savior to the cross.
Saturday morning, we are having our annual Children’s Easter Party at 10:00 in the social room. There will be lots of fun with activities, treats, an Easter Egg hunt and entertainment by a magician.
Come and celebrate resurrection with us Easter Sunday morning. Services will be at 9:00 and 11:00 as usual. At the first service we will have a brass ensemble with the Chancel Choir. I will be preaching on Mark 16:1-8 and my sermon title is “Funny Fear.”
If you paid for a flower to decorate the sanctuary on Easter Sunday, you make take one home following the second service.
The April First Press is available by clicking here. Paper copies are available at various locations around the church building.
Finally, this will be my last weekly contact for a few weeks. Next Tuesday I will be going in for the first of my knee replacement surgeries. I will be out of commission for at least two or three weeks. If you need any pastoral care contact Pastor Beth or Pastor Nancy. I do appreciate your prayers for a speedy recovery.
Stay in One Peace,
