In like a lion and out like a lamb… That saying has certainly held true for this March here in Marion. Things are looking greener. Plants are poking up in gardens and the mountain of plowed snow at the end of the parking lot has been reduced to a thick layer of sand. Which means we will need to do our spring clean-up of the grounds soon. We have it scheduled in two weeks on April 13th, which is the Saturday before Palm Sunday. We will start at 8:30 in the morning. If it is raining we will work the following Saturday, April 20th. So mark your calendar now, and lend us a hand. We can really use your help.
While you are marking your calendar put down Saturday, April 6th, for the “Joyful Noises” concert to benefit Family Promise of Linn County. A silent auction begins at 6:00 that evening with the concert at 7:00. It will be at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. Some top notch musical talent will be performing. There is no admission but a freewill offering will be received. So come enjoy some great music and make a generous donation to help families who are homeless in Linn County.
This Sunday the Chancel choir will be singing in the first service. I will be preaching on Psalm 32 and my sermon title is “Confession: There’s an App for That.”
Finally, the April edition of First Press is out. Paper copies are available around the church building, but if you would like to download a copy click here.
Stay in One Peace,
