I don’t know when you will be reading this, but if it is around the time I send it out on Thursday afternoon, please know you are still welcome to join us for our Maundy Thursday Agape Worship meal. It will start at 6:00 this evening and there is room for you. The last time Jesus was with his friends was at a meal, so we will eat together, remember, and worship. Communion will be part of the service, and the choir will be singing.
We have a Good Friday communion service at 1:00 in the chapel. The speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Gail Stearns. Gail is the chaplain at Chapman University in Southern California, but most of us know her as Mary Stearns’ daughter. It will be a meaningful time to gather and remember Christ’s great sacrifice for us.
Saturday morning we have the children’s Easter Party and Easter Egg Hunt starting at 10:00. Preschool and elementary age children are invited along with an accompanying adult. Of course guests are most welcome.
But the highlight this week is, of course, Easter Sunday morning. In the first service, we will have some great music from the Chancel Choir with trumpets accompanying. The Rainbow Bells will play. And Sam Raiche is singing a beautiful aria from Messiah for our offertory. Luke 24:1-12 is the text for this Sunday and my sermon title is “An Idle Tale.”
Have a most Blessed and Joyous Easter and stay in One Peace,
