First off, the weather is not cooperating for our spring clean-up day on Saturday. Rain turning to snow is forecasted for Friday night. KCRG says Saturday will have a wintry mix with a high of 34. So raking and cleaning up the parking lot could be rather difficult. We are cancelling for now, and will try to get the word out when we will be trying again.
This afternoon is the last of our Sanctuary of Silence. We have been opening the sanctuary for an hour of silent meditation on Thursdays during Lent. If you have been thinking about checking it out, today will be your last chance. Stop by anytime between 5:00 and 6:00. There will be no music or program or pressure, just silence and the beauty of light streaming through our windows.
Sunday is Palm Sunday, of course. The children have prepared something that is very clever. They will be singing with the Chancel Choir at the first service. My sermon text is Luke 19:28-40 and the title is “Facing the Truth.”
We will have a Maundy Thursday Communion service, next Thursday evening at 6:30. There will be a Good Friday Communion service the next day at 1:00 in the chapel. The annual children’s Easter party will be on Saturday morning, March 31st starting at 10:00 a.m.
Easter is on April 1st this year. We shall laugh with joy at the good news of Resurrection.
Stay in One Peace!
