My apologies for sending this a day later than usual. As many of you already know, this has been quite a week. Three dear members of our congregation passed away and we pray for God’s peace and comfort to be with their families.
This Sunday will be the deadline for ordering Easter flowers. If you would like to order a tulip or lily or hyacinth to remember or honor someone on Easter Sunday, you need to complete an order form and get it into the offering plate or office, with your $10 payment. In worship, the Chancel Bell Choir will be playing in the first service. Pastor Beth is going to be preaching on Jeremiah 31:31-34. Her sermon title will be “In a Heartbeat.”
WE NEED SOME HELP! On Tuesday, March 20th, the Presbytery of East Iowa will be meeting at our church from 1:00 to 5:00. We need volunteers for parking lot attendants, greeters, registration, and ushers during worship. Most of these jobs will only involve around an hour time commitment, right at the beginning. There will be a sign up sheet in worship on Sunday, or just let me know.
This coming Wednesday will be our last LOGOS night for the school year. Thursday will be the last “Sanctuary of Silence” when we offer a time of quiet meditation from 5:00 to 6:00. So if you have been thinking about checking it out, this will be your last chance.
WE NEED SOME HELP! We will be cleaning up the church grounds, next Saturday, March 24th, to get things looking good for Holy Week and for Spring. We will begin at 8:30. Bring rakes, brooms, leaf blowers, etc. and we will clear the sand and grit out of the parking lot, pick up trash and generally get things spruced up. Any time you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Stay in One Peace,
