Hello there,
Let’s open with a hymn. Everybody sing!
(tune: Cym Rhonnda “God of Grace and God of Glory”)
God of sleep, and God of slumber, help us not be late we ask:
Changing clocks forward one number, may we not forget this task.
Choir directors, preachers, teachers, all will bless your holy name,
If to Sunday church on time we came.
Yes, that’s right. It is daylight savings time once again and we “spring forward” and move the clocks ahead one hour on Saturday night. So we lose an hour’s sleep; sorry about that.
It will be a good Sunday and worth the effort to get here. In the first service we have a men’s chorus singing. My sermon text is a familiar one, the parable of the Prodigal Son, Luke 15:1-3, 11-32. We will be singing an old gospel hymn and an African American spiritual.
This Monday, March 14th is the deadline to get in your flower order for Easter Sunday. There will be a form to fill out in this week’s bulletin, or contact the church office. The cost is $15.
Finally, we need your help. We are having a church clean-up day, Saturday, March 19th, starting at 9:00. We want to get the grounds cleaned up before our Holy Week/Easter celebrations. So far, Mother Nature is helping by melting away our snowbank. Bring brooms, rakes, shovels, blowers anything you can think of to get things spruced up.
Stay in One Peace,
Howard
