It is Pentecost Sunday! WEAR RED! WEAR RED! WEAR RED! WEAR RED! EVERYONE WEAR RED FOR PENTECOST!
It will be a great Sunday and you won’t want to miss it. We will be having communion, as we always do on Pentecost. But we will also be having a baptism. Little Clara Marie Brown will be baptized, one year to the day on her parent’s wedding anniversary. We praise and thank God for Clara.
Keelyn Kanz will be singing a beautiful solo “You are a Masterpiece” that will fit in perfectly with a baptism. I will be preaching on the second chapter of Acts and my sermon title is: “First Steps.”
Following the service, the Navigators will be hosting a fellowship time in the social room. Come help yourself to “Strawberries ‘n More”. Enjoy some time together with tasty treats.
On Saturday, Pastor Beth and three others from our church will be joining up with another congregation and going on an adult mission trip to Washington, IL, to help with their recovery after last November’s devastating tornado. We ask for God’s protection and blessing on all their efforts.
We need your help! Our Family Promise guests will be arriving a week from Sunday, on June 15th. As you probably know, Family Promise works with those who are homeless, keeping families together, and helping them to get back on their feet. If you can help, contact the church office or Sheila Myers.
We need your help! It is summer and school is out. Feeding Lunch to Youth (FLY) is gearing up, and Wednesdays are the Presbyterians’ day to make lunches for hungry kids in our community. If you can help out, contact the church office or Jo Dillon.
Finally, THANK YOU! Our “Oreo Double Stuffed” offering Sunday was a success. We need $7,581 each week to make our budget. Last Sunday the regular offering was $10,799, plus another $2,833 that was specifically meant for the “doubling up” giving us a deposit of $13,632. This will be a great help to our cash flow, and we are grateful for everyone who responded so generously.
Stay in One Peace,
