Hello there,
Summer is here. The kids are out of school and yesterday, June 3rd we kicked off the Feeding Lunch to Youth (FLY) program. THANK YOU to all who helped out yesterday. It had a few “first day” glitches, but we are confident they will work out. The cool thing this year is that it is very easy to sign up online. If you would like to volunteer for one of our Presbyterian Wednesdays, simply click here. We have heard that they need some help tomorrow, Friday the 5th. If you could help tomorrow, click here, or simply show up at the Methodist Church.
We are still collecting juice boxes for FLY. Bring them to church and stack them up at the back of the sanctuary.
We will be having an interesting blended service on Sunday. Our Synergy Praise Team will be leading the music, but we will be singing familiar hymns (Holy, Holy, Holy and Amazing Grace) only with a bit of a beat. We will have all the traditional components we have a typical worship service (Call to Worship, Prayer of Confession, etc.) while putting a little excitement in our praise. The text for Sunday is a rather odd bunch of verses, Mark 3:20-35. My sermon title is “Crazy Enough for You?”
Following the service on Sunday, there will be an informational meeting in the chapel of anyone who might be interested in going on an adult mission trip to Haiti this fall. The dates for this trip are October 26th to November 3rd. If you want more information come to the meeting or contact Pastor Beth.
Stay in One Peace,
Howard
