Weekly Contact – June 20, 2019

Hello there,

Five of our Middle School youth will be leaving tomorrow morning with Abbie Parker and Grant Dancey for a long weekend mission trip to Omaha, NE.  They will be working with Omaha Urban Plunge that is run by the organization Christ for the City International.  Please keep them in your prayers.

On Sunday in worship, Paul Holstein and John Heim will be doing a duet for our special music.  You know you don’t want to miss that.  I will be preaching on Luke 8:26-39 and my sermon title is “What Happened in the Cemetery…”

We have had a good response, but we can use some more volunteers for FLY (Feeding Lunch to Youth).  This wonderful ministry began this week as we join with other churches and pack and deliver lunches to hundreds of hungry children here in Marion.  We will have a sign-up sheet in the social room on Sunday, or you can check with Peg Heald.

Again, I would remind you of the open house on Saturday, July 27, from 2:00 to 5:00 as we celebrate my upcoming retirement.  And we are looking for pictures of my ministry over the years.  So if I officiated at a wedding in your family, or at a baptism, or you somehow got a great shot of me at some event, please scan them and send them to me, or bring a paper copy by the church office.  We will do the scanning and get them back to you.

Stay in One Peace,
