Weekly Contact- July 7, 2016

Hello there,

I hope you had a good 4th of July celebration last week with those you love.  We were down in Cincinnati visiting our son’s family as well as my parents.  It was great to have four generations of Chapmans all together.

Early on this coming Saturday morning, 8 teenagers and 4 adults will be leaving the church parking lot. They will be heading down to Dallas, TX on our annual youth summer mission trip.  They will be meeting up with a team from Youthworks, an organization that specializes in creating meaningful service experiences for teens all around the country.  They will be working down in the inner city of Dallas, which is sure to be challenging.  Some of the time will be spent with children in summer day-camp programs and some will be spent in soup kitchens providing meals for those in need.  We want to thank everyone who has contributed over this last year towards this trip.  These experiences are life changing for those involved.  We shall keep them all in our prayers, that all will be safe as they do God’s work.

Once again we have a good Sunday planned. Aiden Kozloski will be playing his viola for special music.  I will be preaching on Luke 10:25-37, one of the most familiar stories from the gospels.  My sermon title is: “Questions.”

Stay in One Peace,

Howard
