How is your day going? If you are having a rough one, or you just feel a little stressed out, I would like to extend an invitation to you. Even if you are having a great day, you are still welcome. On Thursdays throughout Lent, we will have our sanctuary open from 5:00 to 6:00 in the afternoon for silent meditation. No service, no program, no pressure; just a time to sit, reflect, be in God’s presence and enjoy the beauty of our sanctuary. At sunset the windows are especially lovely. Come and go as you please. It’s open for anyone, so feel free to pass this invitation on to others.
On Sunday, the Chancel Bells will be playing in the first service. Pastor Beth is preaching on Genesis 17:1-7, 15-16 and her sermon title is “23 and Abraham.”
Mark your calendar now for Ray Blue and Dick Watson in concert on Sunday, March 4, 3:00 p.m. in our sanctuary. It will be great to have Ray back again, but he will not be in worship that morning. So if you are a fan, make sure you make it on that afternoon.
Finally, we will be hosting a meeting of the Presbytery of East Iowa in about four weeks on Tuesday afternoon, March 20th from 1:00 to 5:00. We need around 20 volunteers to be greeters, help with registration and parking and serve as ushers during the worship service. More information will be coming, but if you know you can help there is a sign-up sheet in the social room.
Stay in One Peace,
