Weekly Contact– February 16, 2017

Hello there,

This evening (Thursday, February 16) we will be having a brainstorming meeting looking for ideas to celebrate FPC’s 175th anniversary.  You are invited to join us at 6:30 in the social room.  If you are unable to join us, but you have some ideas, please let me or Pastor Beth know.

This coming Sunday we will be continuing our sermon series we are calling “I Love to Tell the Story”.  Our texts are stories from the Gospels that you selected as your favorite. We began last week with the Lord’s Prayer.  This week the text is John 2:1-11, the story of Jesus changing the water into wine.  The Chancel choir will be singing at the first service.

Mark your calendar now for our Ash Wednesday service, March 1st at 6:00 in the sanctuary.  This is a meaningful way to start our Lenten journey, receiving the Lord’s Supper and the imposition of ashes.  It is a reminder of our mortality and weakness, as well as God’s infinite mercy and grace.  I hope you will join us.

Stay in One Peace,

Howard
