Weekly Contact- December 7, 2018

Hello there,

We are looking for someone to help.  I know we often ask for help, but this time it is a very specific kind of help.  We need someone with IT skills to help us sort through some problems we are having with FPC’s email, website, and other computer related issues.  The person who has been helping us in this area moved away a few months ago and now it is catching up to us.  So, if you are that person or if you know someone who could be that person, please contact one of the pastors.

We have a fun Sunday coming up.  There will be only one service at 9:00. The children and youth will present a wonderful Christmas program entitled “A Birthday Fit for a King.”  They have been working on it for a while now, under the direction of Isaac Langley, Brent and Diane England, and Louse White.  It all is coming together and will be absolutely fantastic.  It will really get you into the holiday spirit.

Following worship, the youth will host their annual Christmas Cookie Walk down in the sanctuary.  Here is a great chance for you to stock up on some Christmas goodies and make a generous donation towards the summer mission trip to Arkansas.

Speaking of mission trips, the Presbytery of East Iowa is planning an adult mission trip down to Houston Texas, February 3-10, 2018.  They will be working on recovery efforts from Hurricane Harvey that did so much damage last August.  Room and board are covered so the cost to you will be very low.  Pastor Beth is planning on going.  The deadline to sign up is January 7.  So, if you would like to get away from the February cold of Iowa for a week and help out someone who really needs it, let Pastor Beth know.

Finally, we need volunteers to help with our Wednesday night LOGOS program in January.  There are sign-up sheets in the social room.

Stay in One Peace,

Howard
