Weekly Contact – August 29, 2019

Exciting news!  The Interim Pastor Search Committee has completed its work and Sunday Roger Dana will introduce the Rev. Dr. Terryl (Terry) Purvis-Smith to the congregation.  Pastor Terry will arrive here the week of September 8.  His first service will be September 15.  Thanks to the members of the  IPNC, Roger Dana, Roger Flink, Andrea Hayes, Abbie Parker, Marta Pumroy and advisor Shirley Pantini for their work on this very important task.

A familiar face, the Rev. Jim Langley will bring the message this Sunday.  His text is Matthew 16:13-20 and sermon title is The Question of Your Life.

Worship Sunday is at 10:00 am – but REMEMBER Sunday, September 8, we begin the fall schedule of worship at 9:00 am with Sunday School for all ages at 10:15.  Office hours also start the fall schedule this Tuesday, September 2.  Hours are Monday 9:00 to 1:00; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:00 to noon and 1:00 to 4:00; and Friday 9:00 to 1:00.

The September First Press is available on our website.  Click Here to download the pdf.  There are a couple changes to the calendar already!  The Thursday Lectionary Study Group has decided to move from Thursday to Tuesday mornings at 10:00.  It is hoped the change of day will attract more participants.  Also, the actual Refuel program will begin Wednesday, September 11, not the 4th.  A Children’s Ministry Volunteers meeting will be held Wednesday, the 4th, at 6:00 pm.

Operation Christmas Child could use help in meeting their goal of filling 350 boxes in 2019.  Donations this year have been slow in coming and financial help is needed to cover shipping.  Check out the display in the Social Hall for items that are still needed.  Carrie Dancey would be happy to talk to you about this very important mission.

Have a safe Labor Day week end.  We hope to see you here Sunday.  You won’t want to miss the announcement from the IPNC!
