Weekly Contact–August 29, 2013
Hello there,
First off, the First Press for September is available. If you would like to see it now, click here, or you may pick up a paper copy at a number of places around the church building.
Well, Monday is Labor Day, and that means that summer is over. It has been said that a perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing and the lawnmower is broken. I don’t know what a perfect fall day would be. You can’t find your leaf rake, maybe.
For this Sunday we will have a hymn sing. We haven’t done that in a while. So come prepared to shout out your favorite hymn. I will be preaching on Luke 14:7-14. My sermon title is “Table Grace.” We will also be celebrating the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.
This Sunday will be our last for the summer with only one service at 9:00. Starting September 8 we will go back to our traditional service at 9:00 and our Synergy service at 11:15. We will also begin our Sunday School program. The following Wednesday, September 11, we will begin our LOGOS program.
Stay in One Peace,
Howard
