While it has been great seeing all the “first day at school” pictures on FaceBook, it is always a bit of a shock when you realize that the child you think of as a toddler is now starting third grade, and the one you thought was about ten is now a senior in high school. But it is a fun time of the year with a whole new school year ahead full of excitement and anticipation. May God bless all who learn and all who teach.
With a new school year starting up, soon we will be back into the typical church routine. Our music ministries are gearing up in anticipation of the fall. Judy Chapman will be directing our Chancel Bell Choir this year and we are grateful for her talent and leadership in this area. There will be a brief informational meeting for anyone interested at all in hand bells, next Wednesday, August 30 at 6:30 in the bell room. And the first Chancel Choir rehearsal will be that same night, at 7:00. New voices are very welcome, so come and make a joyful noise to the Lord.
The first Wednesday night LOGOS meeting is not for a few weeks, September 13, to be precise. But following worship this Sunday, in the Chapel there will be an informational meeting of all parents of children who will be involved in LOGOS in the coming year.
This coming Sunday I will be preaching on Exodus 1:8-2:10, the story of a baby floating on a river. My sermon title is “What Does it Take to Change the World?” Sue Kelly will be providing the special music.
Stay in One Peace,
