We will have some great music in worship this Sunday. A male gospel chorus called the Men of God Project will be singing. They are from the King of Kings Lutheran Church, under the direction of John Lensch. John is the brother of our Jim Lensch, and Jim’s son, Brian, is also in the group. You won’t want to miss it.
And I made a promise in my sermon last Sunday. We have been looking at the 6th chapter of John where Jesus tells us that he is the Bread of Life. We have heard that before and it doesn’t trouble us too much. But then Jesus goes on to say that we must “eat his flesh and drink his blood,” which is rather startling, even troublesome. I promised I would say more about what Jesus is really trying to say in these troubling verses in this week’s sermon. My title is “Hard to Swallow.”
Finally, the summer is almost over. School will be starting up soon. If you would like to have one last splurge of the season I can think of no better way than Labor Day weekend at Camp Wyoming. It is their 55th Anniversary Celebration from September 4th to 7th. They have accommodation for whole families including fun camping activities, lodging and all meals. Discount prices are available as well as day fees. There is more information on the bulletin board across from my office or click here.
Stay in One Peace,
