Weekly Contact- August 2, 1018

Hello there,

PICNIC!!!  PICNIC!!!   PICNIC!!!  This Sunday following worship we will be having our all church picnic at Hanna Park.  Pork sandwiches, beverages, and table services will be provided.  We would like you to bring a side dish, a salad or a dessert to share.  Everyone is invited.  Bring a friend.

At worship this Sunday the Cedar Sounds Sweet Adelines will be providing the special music.  They are always a real blessing.  They are an all-women’s chorus singing in “barbershop” harmony.  Donna Bean, and her daughter, Diane, are both members of the group.  I know you will enjoy them.

I will be finishing up my sermon series on the letter to the Ephesians.  The text will be Ephesians 4:1-6, 10-16.  My sermon title is “One in Christ—Equipped”.  We will also be celebrating the Lord’s Supper.  (By the way, as I am sending this out, we still need one more elder or deacon to help serve communion.  If you could help us out, please call the church office.)

Starting on Sunday, August 19th we will be teaming up with Echo Hill Presbyterian for the Family Promise ministry.  You will recall that this organization provides housing and support for families who are homeless.  Our congregation is asked to provide meals for four nights of that week, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.  There will be a sign up in back of the sanctuary on Sunday, but if you need more information contact Ricky Machula, Jean Bailey, or Pastor Beth.

Stay in One Peace,

Howard
