Weekly Contact–April 5, 2018

Hello everyone,

I saw a picture on Facebook this week that said, “Installing Spring 50%.  Warring: installation failed. Spring is not found in your state.  Please try Florida.”  This statement feels so true as I watch it snowing outside my office window.  It may officially be spring but we are expected to get some more bad weather this weekend.  However, that doesn’t stop the church from doing what we are called to do.

We have a full and exciting Sunday coming up.  We are only having ONE service starting at 9:00am.  It will be led by the women of the congregation as it’s Gifts of Women.  Louise White and Joyce Hutchins will be sharing their faith stories with you and some hardworking and deserving folks will receive the Presbyterian Women honorary lifetime membership award.  We also have a special women’s chorus singing a song that a member of the choir has written, Connie Peake. After the service the youth will be hosting one of their delicious pancake breakfasts so come to church hungry.  All donations go toward the youth mission trips.

Lastly, many of you have called asking how Pastor Howard is doing after his knee surgery.  All went well and he is now home with a new and improved knee.  He appreciates all the prayers and the well wishes he has received.  He will likely be out recovering for the next few weeks so if you have a pastoral emergency please contact me.

Blessings,

Beth
