EASTER SUNDAY – APRIL 21 – ONE SERVICE AT 10:00
It is Holy Week, the most important time of the church year. We will be having a Communion-Tenebrae service this evening at 6:00. “Tenebrae” means darkness and it is an observance of the Lord’s Supper, reading passages of scripture and extinguishing candles. The growing darkness symbolizes the flight and denial of the disciples leading up to our Lord’s crucifixion. The Christ candle remains lighted throughout the service symbolizing that the forgiveness and fellowship we find in communion with our Lord cannot not be extinguished. I hope you join us for this meaningful worship experience.
Tomorrow there will be a Good Friday Communion Service at 1:00 in the Chapel.
On Sunday, of course, we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. There will be one service at 10:00. We will have trumpets and bells and the Chancel Choir singing. You will not want to miss it. The texts will be: Genesis 1:1-5, John 1:1-5, and John 20:1-18. My sermon title is: “Sunday is Here!”
Next Sunday, April 28, will be “Gifts of Women” Sunday. The Rev. Connie Peake will bring the message and the women of the church will assist. Again, there will be one service at 10:00.
May you and yours have a blessed Easter, and may the joy of the Risen Christ fill your hearts.
Stay in One Peace,
