Reminder: We are starting our summer scheduled this week, with ONE SERVICE at 10:00!
It is probably a busy weekend for most of you. It is a holiday, of course, as well as graduation for many of the local high schools. So there are parties and celebration and we wish the new grads all the best. But it will be worth your while to make the effort to be in church on Sunday.
We will be honoring our long time members. Mary Mann has been a member for 76 years, followed by her sister, Katie Bock, who has been a member for 74 years. Don Stamy has been a member for 72 years. That is a total of 222 years between the three of them. There is a very good chance that all three will be in church on Sunday.
It will also be Judy Chapman’s last Sunday as our organist. There will be a reception honoring our long time members and Judy following the service.
Keelyn Kanz will be providing special music and I will be preaching on John 5:1-9. My sermon title is “To Be Whole.”
The Personnel Committee continues to look for a half time Christian Education Director to begin working late summer. So far, our advertising and publicity have not produced any viable candidates. Often in situations like this it is a matter of someone knowing someone. If you can think of someone for whom this might be a good fit, have them contact me, or let us know their name and we will contact them.
Finally, if you can help mow the church lawn even once or twice during the summer that would be wonderful. There is a sign-up sheet in the social room, or contact the church office.
Stay in One Peace,
