Dear Members and Friends,
This Sunday will include a Service of Ordination and Installation of deacons and ruling elders. These are the people you have elected to leadership in our congregation.
We will have a reception to honor deacons and ruling elders whose terms of active service have come to an end. It is important to recognize and give thanks to them for the commitment and time they have given in service.
Here are the names of those who will be installed and/or ordained, followed by the names of those whose active terms of service have come to an end. The third list shows all of those who will be serving as deacons and elders in 2020 and the years when their terms will be finished.
Being installed/ordained: Holly Foster, Cheryl Hanna, Molly Lurth, Emily Schaub as Deacons and Kathy Hayes, Carolyn Hayes, Abbie Parker, Marta Pumroy, Andrea Joyner and Kari Raiche as Elders.
Retiring are Deacons Diane Bean, Ricky Machula, Jeanne Simmons and Noreen Tonkin. Retiring Elders are Christian Clarke, Charley Knudsen, Julie Wallace and Andrea Hayes.

You will also be able to eat pancakes thanks to the youth group’s pancake fundraising effort to support the 2020 mission trip.
I’m grateful for the service of the youth and look forward to being a partner in service with the 2020 Session and Deacons.
Help. I’ve misplaced two small boxes over the holiday. These boxes have wheels for the new rolling book cart in the library. Goes to show you not to put things in places where you’re sure to remember them!
With gratitude, Terry
THE HOTTEST PROGRAM GOING
It’s Refuel. Twenty-five to thirty people from early elementary through high school come each Wednesday to worship, for fellowship, games, education and, of course, dinner.
YOU CAN ENRICH THIS SIZZLINBG PROGRAM
You can enrich it in one of three ways: 1) come to dinner and build relationships with the younger set in our congregation; 2) prepare or help prepare a meal or bring dessert; or, 3) offer to teach a class – elementary, mid high, or senior high.
Here’s the Schedule
5:30 0 5:45 – arrival and snack in the Social Hall
5:45 – 6:00 – worship in the sanctuary
6:00 – 6:30 – Bible study and recreation
6:30 – 7:00 – Switch recreation and Bible study
7:00 – 7:30 – supper in the Social Hall
Refuel depends on the energy you bring to it. We need volunteers for any Wednesday, but we really need volunteers for next Wednesday to get us going. Please let us know where you can help out!
HELP FOR THE WELCOMING TEAM
Each Sunday volunteers are stationed on the lower level to welcome and direct visitors. Please consider volunteering to provide this service periodically. There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board by the Pastor’s office. You are asked to arrive by 8:40 prior to the 9:00 am service. Contact Jeanne Simmons with any questions.
POINSETTIAS
The poinsettias that decorated the sanctuary during Advent have been moved to the Social Hall and are available for anyone wishing to have one.
PICTURE DIRECTORY PHOTOS
If you had your picture taken but did not order a package, you may pick up your free 8×10 in the Social Hall Sunday or in the office during the week.
For those unable to have their pictures taken after Thanksgiving, Lifetouch will be here Thursday, January 9, from 2:00 to 9:00 pm. Contact Marta Pumroy to schedule a time.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
In 2019 a total of 354 boxes were collected. Follow Your Box labels were affixed to our boxes and we learned that our boxes were sent to Mexico and Rwanda. Thank you for your support of this mission. Watch the chart in the Social Hall for monthly needs and updates.
