Local Missions We Support

Linn County Jail

Jesus said, “When I was a stranger and you welcomed me,  I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.  Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.”

The Chaplaincy at the Linn County Correctional Center is committed to ministering to the spiritual, physical, and educational needs of the inmates. It provides religious reading materials and other worship articles to the inmates, provides opportunities of worship and study in groups as allowed, helps the inmates with their efforts to gain their GED, and regularly visits inmates when requested for encouragement, study, and referral.

Marion Churches Senior Living Community Foundation

Eleven churches in Marion are working together to provide affordable living to senior citizens with low incomes.   The Foundation has constructed three apartment complexes, Moundview Manor, Scott Meadows and Trinity Pointe, that offer specialized housing designed for disabled and elderly persons. These apartments qualify as designated Section 8 housing. Community amenities include a library, in-house salon, deck and laundry facilities. FPC has been proud to support and be a part of this ongoing project.

Camp Wyoming

FPC has supported Camp Wyoming, a year round Camp & Conference Center and a mission of the Presbytery of East Iowa.  The purpose of Camp Wyoming is to provide opportunities for people of all ages to come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and to grow in Christian faith and living; and to aid them in understanding the natural world as a precious gift and the need to responsibly protect the environment.  For more information or to find out how you can sign your children up for a wonderful week of summer camp visit  the Camp Wyoming website.
