CROP Hunger Walk

Cedar Rapids/Marion Marion CROP Hunger Walk

In 2019, the CR/Marion CROP Hunger Walk raised over $23,000 to help feed hungry people in our community and around the world. Last year, because of the pandemic, the walk was held virtually and raised nearly $9000. 25% of the funds raised in our area stay local to support the Linn Community Food Bank, Churches of Marion Food Pantry, and Green Square Meals.

Food security has become more common and the need is greater; According to Feeding America, 297,800 people in Iowa are food insecure, including 94,270 children. Our local CROP Walk can help meet the need of our hungry neighbors here and around the world.

This year the CROP Walk will be a virtual walk once again, but FPC can hold its own walk around our neighborhood to raise money. We will do it in a safe, secure, and healthy way. Walkers and sponsors will be recruited in September and October for our congregational event on Sunday, October 10, 2021.
We walk because they walk for food, water, safety, education, and medical aid.

Let’s walk with our community and the world on Sunday, October 10, 2021!
