The session shall have responsibility for governing the congregation and guiding its witness to the sovereign activity of God in the world, so that the congregation is and becomes a community of faith, hope, love, and witness. (G-3.0201 Book of Order, PCUSA)
Our Session is made up of deeply committed leaders of our congregation who take seriously their responsibility of guiding our congregation. Elders on the Session are elected for three year terms, but may be reelected to a second term. We have twelve elders who serve along with a high school youth who is elected for a one year term. Each elder is assigned to a particular committee as liaison to ensure the ongoing mission and ministry of the congregation continues effectively. The Session normally meets on the fourth Tuesday evening of the month.
In addition to Session meetings and committee work, elders assist in worship, especially with communion, attend Presbytery meetings, and serve in other ways as needed.
