I hope you had a great Fourth of July and were able to relax and have some fun. My favorite verse from a patriotic song is this:
O beautiful for heroes proved in liberating strife
Who more than self their country loved and mercy more than life!
America! America! May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness and every gain divine!
Indeed, may God refine our gold and all our gains divine.
As this is sent out, our high school youth are traveling home from their mission trip to Boston. Keep them in your prayers that they will be safe on the road. They should be home late Saturday night.
It will be a good Sunday. We are continuing our series on the Lord’s Prayer. This week it will be, “Give us today our daily bread…” Megan England will be playing the clarinet for our special music. And we will be celebrating the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.
Keep bringing in those juice boxes for the FLY program.
Finally, you may have already seen this in the First Press, but we are looking to hire a new Youth Coordinator to help with our youth program. This position was held by Leigh Benish, who recently graduated from seminary and is looking for a call where she can serve as a pastor. Our Youth Coordinator position is part time, 6-8 hours a week, September through May. Under the leadership of the Pastors, the Youth Coordinator will function as a planner, coordinator, and role model for the youth and overall youth program. The individual who takes this job must be at least 25 years old, due to insurance issues associated with driving, and have some experience working with youth. If you know someone who might be interested in this position have them contact one of the pastors or someone on the Personnel Committee.
Stay in One Peace,
