It is that time once again… the Annual Meeting of the Congregation. It will be following the first service at approximately 10:00. At this meeting we do a number of important things. We review some of what happened in 2015 and take a look at our budget for 2016. We have a meeting of the corporation and elect officers. We approve the pastors’ terms of call and elect members of the nominating committee. The annual reports are available here at church, or if you would like an e-mail copy contact the church office before noon on Friday the 29th by calling 377-7309 or at email@example.com.
The Annual Meeting is routine, but the business we conduct is important. However the main reason I hope to see you on Sunday is that you want to be here for a wonderful time of worship. The youth will be leading this Sunday and providing the special music in the first service. Pastor Beth will be preaching and her text is Jeremiah 1:4-10.
Monday, of course, is the presidential caucus. I do hope you plan on participating. There are many in this world who do not have any say in who governs their country, and we should be thankful for such a right and privilege. Furthermore, I think we all will be grateful when it is all over just so we will be done with the terrible ads on television and the telephone ringing with robo-calls. We will be hosting the Republican caucus for districts 1, 3 and 4, so if you are in those districts the location will be very familiar to you.
Finally, the February edition of First Press is available. You may pick up a paper copy in various locations around the church building, or by clicking here.
