When I was younger I had a dream of what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wanted to be Wonder Woman. Like a lot of girls my age I would pretend I was the super hero. I would put on my Wonder Woman t-shirt and magic tiara using my blanket at my cape. I’d run around the house blocking the imaginary bullets with my bulletproof bracelet and fighting bad guys.
As I got older I did come to realize I could never be Wonder Woman. I have however been blessed with amazing women in my life. Now granted, even though Wonder Woman isn’t real, we do have some amazing women who do some wonderful things as followers of Christ right here in this church. This Sunday is Women’s Sunday. The PW will hand out the Presbyterian Women Honorary Lifetime Membership awards and for the sermon time we will hear from two women on how faith has been important in their lives. The scripture reading is from Isaiah 55:1-9. The cherubs will be singing and Annitta Parrish will be providing special music in the first service. So, you won’t want to miss this.
Also happening this Sunday is a pancake breakfast…so come to church hungry and generous. All donations go toward the youth summer trips. If you were in the Synergy service last week you heard Pastor Howard say that Daylight savings time begins this Sunday. That is wrong. In our Presbyterian calendar it has it on the wrong day. Daylight savings actually begins next Sunday so don’t forget to set your clocks ahead an hour next week.
If you would like to know what’s coming up in the next month check out the March First Press. Click here if you would like to read the electronic version. Paper copies will be available around the church as well.
Pastor Howard and Judy are relaxing in warm sunny Florida. With our recent snow fall I know that I am green with envy but we do wish them a happy vacation.
Grace and Peace,
