Let’s talk about summer. I think we are all ready for hot weather, long days, and everything a bit more relaxed. I’ve been thinking about it, not just because of the recent snow, but because the Synod School catalogue arrived in the mail. Synod School is a wonderful experience for everyone from toddlers to great grandparents. It is kind of a combination of summer camp and fun college courses, set at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA. Judy and I have been going for a number of years now and we have a great time. This year the two of us will be teaching a watercolor painting course, but you can take courses on everything from basket weaving to Zoroastrianism. Plus there will be inspiring worship in the morning and evening. The dates are July 21-31. Stop by the church office to look at the catalogue, or check it out online by clicking here.
This Sunday, we will be continuing our Lenten sermon series on God’s covenants that Pastor Beth began last week. I will be preaching and my text is Genesis 17:1-7, 15-22 about the covenant God made with Abraham and Sarah. My title is “Things God Does for Love: Trust.” At the first service Jess Kozloski will be singing as well as the Chancel Choir. We will be celebrating the sacrament of the Lord’s supper.
The Family Promise guests have been with us this week, and I want to thank everyone who has been helping out making them feel welcome.
We had to cancel LOGOS last night due to the bad weather. It was the night when kids invite their teachers from school. Quite a number were coming, so it is too bad. But we have rescheduled it for next Wednesday.
Finally, the March First Press is out. If you would like to download it, click here. Paper copies will be available around the church building.
Stay in one Peace,
