First off, the May First Press is available. Click here to download a copy. Paper copies are available around the church building.
It is hard to believe the school year is winding down to the end. There is a lot going on in the month of May with school activities, graduations, etc. So, I would suggest you be sure to check over the First Press calendar to be clear about all the church activities as well. We switch into summer scheduling by the end of the month, going to one service at 9:00 on the 24th, which is Memorial Day weekend.
By the way, did you know May is unique because in any given year no other month begins and ends on the same day of the week as May? So, this year May begins on a Friday and no other month in 2015 begins with a Friday. I don’t know why you might need to know this, but that never has kept me from telling you things in the past.
It will be a good time for worship this Sunday. In the first service the Chancel Choir is singing, and their anthem is something different. It is a celebration of thanksgiving combined with the doxology. And if you haven’t been to our Synergy service in a while, our praise team is really rocking. I will be preaching on Acts 8:26-40. It is a fascinating story about two very different individuals meeting under very unusual circumstances. I have entitled the sermon “Crossing the Line.”
Stay in One Peace,
