As we are reminded again and again every single day, we have a presidential caucus coming up in about three and half weeks. Through some shuffling and rescheduling it turns out some of the precincts in Marion will be holding the Republican caucus in our sanctuary on February 1st. So we are looking for some help. We would like around 3 or 4 people to help “host” the caucus; basically just show up and be here, answering any questions and helping out where needed. Ideally, it would be someone who would be here anyway for the caucus. If you would be at all interested, please let me know.
We are back at the usual routine. Last night we had our Wednesday night activities with LOGOS, youth activities and choir practices. This week Sunday School will be starting back up after the holiday break. We will have our usual two worship services at 9:00 and 11:00. The Chancel Choir will be singing at the first service. We will be learning a new hymn out of our new hymnal. It is lovely and I think you will really like it. I will be preaching on Isaiah 43:1-4 and my sermon title is “Anxiety Counterattack.”
Finally, it is a new year and that means reports and paperwork. If you have certain responsibilities with a committee or ministry in our church, there might be an annual report you need to turn in. The deadline is next Friday, January 15th.
Stay in One Peace,
